Every November, people across Australia who love young people stop and pray for them together. We pray for the teenagers drifting from church, for the leaders running on empty, for a generation worth giving our knees to.
Month of Prayer is the simplest, most foundational thing YMF does, because this work is spiritual before it is strategic. All November we’ll send you a short daily prayer, shaped around real stories of young people and youth ministry in Australia, so you always know exactly what, and who, to pray for.

The problem
You see what’s happening to young people. And it feels like there’s nothing you can do.
The numbers are heavy. And they’re not just numbers, they’re teenagers you know. Caring deeply and feeling powerless is an exhausting place to live.
It’s bigger than any of us
Most young people raised in church drift away; too many churches have no teenagers at all; the leaders who stay are stretched thin. No one person can turn that around.
So what could you do?
You’re not a youth minister, or you are, and you’re tired, and either way the need dwarfs anything you feel you can offer.
But it was never ours to fix
It is God’s work before it is ours. And prayer is not the least we can do. It’s the most.

Why we pray first
Prayer is the most powerful thing you’ll do all year.
We feel the helplessness too. YMF exists to build the infrastructure Australian youth ministry desperately needs. So the first thing we built, before any program, was a month of prayer. Because we’re convinced the work is spiritual before it is strategic, and we’d rather start on our knees than pretend it depends on us.
Month of Prayer is YMF’s primary activity. Every November we gather a national community of parents, leaders, churches, and people who simply care to intercede for young people and the youth ministers who serve them. You don’t need to be part of anything, qualified for anything, or sure of the right words. You just need to be willing to pray, and we’ll give you the words and the stories to help you along.

What’s at stake
A generation is worth praying for.
It’s easy to let the size of the problem talk us out of doing the one thing that actually moves it. But a young person who feels far from God is never beyond the reach of a praying church. The question was never whether we can fix this on our own. It’s whether we’ll lift these young people to the One who can, together, and out loud, this November.
